The flag installed above the temple always waves in the opposite direction of the wind.

If you look at the Sudarshan Chakra on top of the temple from anywhere in Puri, you will always see it right in front of you.

During normal days the wind blows from sea to land and vice-versa during evening, but it is reverse in Puri.

Birds or planes will not be found flying over the temple.

The shadow of the main dome remains invisible at any time of the day.

The quantity of food to be cooked inside the temple lasts for the whole year. Not a single quantity of Prasad ever goes waste, it can feed lakhs of people.

In the kitchen of the temple, 7 utensils are placed on each other to cook Prasad and everything is cooked on wood only. In this process, the ingredients in the top vessel are cooked first and then gradually one after the other towards the bottom.

You cannot hear any sound produced by the ocean only when you enter the first step in the temple’s Singhdwara. You cross a single step, then you can hear it. This can be clearly felt in the evening.

The temple kitchen is the largest kitchen in the world.

Every evening the flag installed on top of the temple is changed by a human by climbing it upside down.
