Ramdev Pir Mandir Jaisalmer – Guide

Ramdevra Temple aka Ramdev Pir Mandir is a major religious place in Jaisalmer which attracts a large number of devotees. It is believed that Baba Ramdevji had a samadhi at this place in 1459 AD. After which Maharaja Ganga Singh of Bikaner got the temple constructed around the samadhi here. This temple is dedicated to the folk deity of Rajasthan, Baba Ramdevji, who is considered very holy. This temple is located 12 km from Pokhran on the Jodhpur-Jaisalmer road.

History of this Temple

The Ramdev Pir Mandir Jaisalmer is dedicated to Ramdevji Baba, a Rajput who was born in the Tomar Rajput family in the late 14th century. Ramdevji gave up his materialistic life and accepted sadhuism very early in his life for the service of mankind. In a legend, he had performed many miracles. But at the age of 33, Baba Ramdevji left his mortal body by taking samadhi. The Ramdevra Temple was built in the early 1900s by Maharaja Ganga Singh, the Maharaja of Jodhpur and Bikaner, at the site where he took samadhi.
