Italy has restricted ‘Parenting rights’ of same-sex parents. The government of Italy has decided to stop recording both parents in same-sex couples on city registers.
The rationale behind this is that Meloni’s government believes that allowing gay and lesbian couples to adopt kid will make their kids just like them further reducing straightness in society. ‘
However, this move has left Gay-party of Italy really anxious and tizzied. They are chiding that more than 115,000 kids are going to get affected by the move.

Understandably, this move has met resistance from the LGBT+ community and their supporters who are calling the move ‘discriminatory’. The only silver lining is that the restriction may not be enforced right away and there might be a period of transition during which the existing registrations will not be affected.
