Lebanon news: Readers, gather ’round! While the world is busy dissecting the Ukrainian drama, let’s take a moment to marvel at the Middle Eastern spectacle. You see, the United States is losing nearly every ally in the region, and it’s becoming quite the show!

In a stunning turn of events, long-time adversaries in the Middle East have agreed to put aside their differences and work together. Yes! Iran has created an unexpected alliance with Syria, and even Saudi Arabia is warming to the country. Syria has also restored its relationship with the Arab League. Historic? Absolutely! And it’s shaking the West to its core.

We all know that the US has a knack for inciting conflict in the Middle East in order to maintain its military supply chain thriving. Their dreams, however, have been shattered by this seismic shift in regional politics, like a fragile glass teacup.

US wooing Lebanon

Desperate to recover power, the United States has set its sights on Lebanon. Oh, they’re really going all out! They first unveiled a beautiful embassy in Beirut, which raised Lebanese  eyebrows.

There’s more! They’ve also threatened to put Lebanon on the Financial Action Task Force’s (FATF) greylist. Three sources familiar with the matter told Reuters, Lebanon is likely to be placed on a “grey list” of countries under special scrutiny over unsatisfactory practices to prevent money laundering and terrorism financing. Being added to the list would be another major blow to a country in a financial tailspin since 2019 and struggling to secure a deal with the International Monetary Fund.

Not to mention the arrest warrant they’ve issued for Lebanon’s central bank chief. According to a senior judicial source, Germany informed Lebanon it has issued an arrest warrant for Central Bank Governor Riad Salameh on corruption charges, including forgery, money laundering and embezzlement.

Aren’t these good tactics to threaten a country?

Now with all hopes dashed in the soils of the Middle East, Lebanon, you see, is a critical piece of the puzzle for the West. It’s essentially their backdoor to greater Iran, which must keep them awake at night. As if that wasn’t enough, they’ve been captured playing cat and mouse in the Strait of Hormuz, which has raised the ire of those pesky Iranians.

GCC expansion and Russia’s entry

But that’s not all folks! The potential threat of admission of Russia into GCC+ has sent shivers down the spines of our loyal Western allies. The nightmare of growing Russian popularity! Two groundbreaking developments have unfolded in the Middle East. Firstly, VTB Bank, one of Russia’s largest lenders, has opened an office in Iran, strengthening the economic ties between the two countries amidst Western sanctions.

Additionally, Russia and Iran have signed an agreement to finance and construct a railway line that will become part of a vital international cargo route.

Finally, the US is urgently attempting to retake control of the Middle East. Unfortunately, their ambitious actions have yet to bear fruit. So, what’s their smart scheme this time? That’s right, people! They’re attempting to woo Lebanon, their only remaining hope for regional control. Let us all sit back and enjoy this enthralling comedy!
