Adolf Hitler devoted two chapters in his controversial book ‘Mein Kampf’ to study and practice the art of propaganda. Following his footsteps in the post globalised world is China and its communist government led by none other than President Xi Jinping. According to a sensational report by The National Pulse, all major media houses of the world have sat across the CCP officials at lavish dinner parties and toured the middle kingdom on private trips in exchange for penning favourable opinions of the CCP and hide all the shoddy work it does behind the curtains.
The symbiotic relationship between CCP and the American media is revealed in the Department of Justice’s Foreign Agent Registration Act (FARA) filings, which exposes a mutually beneficial partnership spanning over a decade between establishment media outlets and the China-United States Exchange Foundation (CUSEF).
CUSEF is the lynchpin of CCP’s operations in the States and uses American publications to extend the work done by the United Front activists that hide in plain sight amongst the common American public.
CUSEF has shaken hands with an American lobbying firm named BLJ and has been silently delivering the Yuan filled briefcases to the major ‘so-called independent publications’.
A filing dated January 1st, 2012, shows outlets including The New York Times, The Wall Street Journal, Reuters, CNN, and more participating in “private dinners” at the home of CUSEF’s American lobbying firm’s CEO.
The same filing reveals that outlets including National Public Radio (NPR), The Atlantic, MSNBC, and Reuters had journalists visit China to meet with CUSEF officials.
In 2013, The Washington Post joined a China-bound journalism delegation, in 2014 Harvard Business Review also joined a delegation, and in 2015, the Los Angeles Times and The Huffington Post also visited the communist country.
Buying US media—a subset of the dangerous United Front
China uses the “United Front” to co-opt and neutralize sources of potential opposition to the policies and authority of the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) inside the country as well as outside. Simply put, the United Front is a coalition of groups and individuals working towards the CCP’s common goals against its enemies to pin them down. These operations are mostly covert and deceptive and they spread beyond China’s borders.
The strategy to use a range of methods to influence overseas Chinese communities, foreign governments, and other actors to take actions or adopt positions supportive of Beijing’s preferred policies — appears to have been deployed in conjunction with outlets such as CNN, New York Times, and The Washington Post.

Reported previously by TFI, in the initial days of the Coronavirus pandemic that spread around the globe due to the negligence of China — the left-liberal American media outlets like NYT and Washington Post were more concerned about whether the term ‘Chinese virus’ is racist or not; rather than asking tough questions to China.
Filled pockets of US media
In China Daily’s disclosure submitted to the Justice Department for the period between November 2016 and April 2020, it has been revealed that CCP pushed in a whopping USD 19 million into the pockets of some major media houses of the US like the New York Times and the Washington Post.
While commiserating with China, NYT also interviewed Dr Bruce Aylward of the World Health Organisation (WHO). The conversation was published with the headline, “Inside China’s All-Out War on the Coronavirus.” The WHO official, Bruce Aylward, widely accused of being extremely biased towards China, mounted a desperate rebuttal for China and the publication openly gave him the space to plead its case. A surprising leeway, considering the right-wing activist is not even given a little breathing space in these publications.
Reported by TFI, it’s not just the media houses that are being bought off by the Chinese state machinery. Wall Street and its hotshot companies also lie prostrate in front of the Chinese masters in the hope of receiving the nod to conduct their business in mainland China.
Such is the thirst of Wall Street to make inroads in China that companies like Goldman Sachs are hiring sons, daughters, nephews, and nieces of CCP’s Politburo in its plush US offices without any experience and qualification to show its goodwill. In 2016 JP Morgan Chase was even fined by American regulators for giving jobs to well-connected Chinese “princelings”.

The Chinese government aggressively promotes its Communist political system and ‘Communist with Chinese characteristic’ model of the political economy to the world. There is a reason why China has seemingly gone under the radar in the aftermath of the COVID-19 pandemic. The generosity of the US media towards China has helped Xi Jinping avoid the negative press.
There was a time when these publications used to be the epitome of courageous journalism. However, the greed for few dimes has turned them into lapdogs of the CCP and that is the biggest travesty of the American media. The next time our readers read an article from such publications, they should keep in mind, that it has been proofread by the Politburo in China to maintain the ‘journalistic integrity’.
