China denigrated Australia and got it back from Morrison, but Justin Trudeau is happy with Canada being called ‘a dog’

Canada has just been called a ‘running dog of the United States’ by China. Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau has been called a mere ‘boy’ by China. Yet, Canada still seems to be lacking the gumption and spine to take on an undiplomatic, rowdy and bullish China.

China’s consul general to Rio de Janeiro, Li Yang, derided Justin Trudeau in a tweet on Sunday, blaming him for ruining friendly relations between the two countries. In the tweet, he said, “Boy, your greatest achievement is to have ruined the friendly relations between China and Canada, and have turned Canada into a running dog of the US.”

The derogatory remarks by China, which were most definitely not made by Li Yang on his own accord and had the tacit approval of political higher-ups within the Chinese Communist Party, have once again proven how Canada is sitting fodder for China to walk all over. Under Prime Minister Justin Trudeau particularly, Canada has come to be known by the Chinese as a sheepish country with no self-dignity, which is why it keeps taking repeated insults by the paper dragon lying down. As a matter of fact, Canada has a lot to learn from Australia when it comes to thrashing the living daylights out of China.

Make no mistake, China did try very hard to berate, deride and wage a diplomatic war against Australia. Yet, the down under country, led by Prime Minister Scott Morrison was in a mood of having none of it. So, with every derogatory remark which China made against Australia, or every ‘strategic’ manoeuvre which the paper dragon tried to effectuate against the Morrison-led government, the response from down under was always multiple times more magnanimous. Australia did not trade its dignity, principles and ethos for the sake of maintaining a trade surplus with China.

As such, when China, via its state media stooges described Australia as “gum stuck to the bottom of China’s shoe”; or claimed that the Australian Army was killing innocent children in Afghanistan by morphing and falsifying images, Prime Minister Scott Morrison did not shy away from standing up to China and lambasting it, while also demanding an apology from the paper dragon. Whether it be the barley import ban by China, or the wine import cuts, or even the cutdown on levels of coking coal taken in by the paper dragon from Australia, the Morrison government bore it all without developing a wrinkle.

Canada, led by Justin Trudeau on the other hand, has a rather large appetite for taking insults by China lying down. It is almost as if the liberal Canadian government draws some sadistic pleasure by being derided by the paper dragon. China has called Canada a ‘dog’ of the United States, and yet, the Trudeau government does not seem concerned. Taking cosmetic decisions of sanctioning China and CCP officials for their human rights violations in Xinjiang and Hong Kong will bear no consequences whatsoever. In the past year, the world at large, except Canada it seems, has realised that China can only be tamed by aggressive military posturing and trade sanctions.

Take for instance the Canadian cabinet of Justin Trudeau, along with the liberal Prime Minister himself, abstaining from a vote which aimed at declaring the CCP’s human rights violations in Xinjiang a ‘genocide’. While the entire cabinet of Trudeau abstained from voting, the resolution was passed with an overwhelming majority in the Canadian parliament. Despite his allegiance to Chinese interests, Trudeau is still being called a ‘boy’ governing a country that is the ‘running dog’ of the US.

China considers Canada a non-entity. And therefore, when Canada teams up with other countries to supposedly challenge China’s human rights violations, all that the paper dragon has to do to tame Trudeau is call him names. It is already believed that members of the Canadian government are compromised of Chinese officials. Justin Trudeau himself has made no secret of the fact that he wants closer ties with Beijing, which is why he expressed his abject displeasure when the Canadian military cancelled scheduled drills with China late last year.

Even after his country being called a ‘dog’ by China, if Justin Trudeau fails to do anything concrete against Beijing, he will go down in history as the most spineless Prime Minister that the North American country has ever had. Trudeau would be well advised to not let his personal admiration of the CCP become the reason for Canada being abused by China on a regular basis.
