Major League baseball, that boycotted Georgia, just signed a three-years-deal with Chinese tech major Tencent

The latest news concerning Major League Baseball (MLB) gives the perfect example about how the companies and organisation which exercise wokeness and virtue signalling are the first ones to abandon all these things as soon as there is money on the line. MLB has been leading the charge to boycott the state of Georgia for its efforts to streamline the voting system, so that the people can regain trust in the system, and has decided to move the league out of Atlanta, however, in the same breath, it has signed a 3 year deal with the Chinese tech major Tenent even in the face of over the top human right abuses in Xinjiang by the Chinese Communist Party.

“Major League Baseball fundamentally supports voting rights for all Americans and opposes restrictions to the ballot box,” league commissioner Rob Manfred said announcing the decision to pull this year’s All-Star Game out of the Peach State Friday. He said protesting Georgia’s new GOP-backed election integrity law was “the best way to demonstrate our values as a sport.”

The MLB, on the other hand, signed a contract with Tencent, one of China’s biggest tech giants, on Wednesday. It’s one of the Chinese companies that temporarily suspended NBA games in 2019 after former Houston Rockets general manager Daryl Morey openly expressed support for pro-democracy demonstrators in Hong Kong who are facing a Beijing-backed crackdown.

Tencent will be able to download MLB games in a variety of Asian countries until 2023 under the current arrangement. In 2018, the MLB and Tencent signed a new partnership, granting Tencent streaming rights to 125 games in China.

At a time when virtue-signalling, wokeness and absurd yet popular leftist economic policies are gaining traction in the USA, Donald Trump is providing much-needed leadership to deter these forces. President Joe Biden is angered by Georgia’s enactment of the “Election Integrity Act of 2021.” Since Republican Governor Brian Kemp signed it into a bill, the law, which aims to streamline and codify the state’s election process, has been the subject of debate.

Liberals have been going insane trying to figure out ways to make voting in America more equal. Liberals and Democrats are so irritated that they are now pushing for an international blockade of Georgia. Worse, the United States President is echoing similar sentiments. However, the Republicans are not taking these developments lightly. Former President Donald Trump on April 2 urged people to boycott Major League Baseball (MLB), Coca-Cola, Delta and other corporations which are openly opposing election reforms enacted by the Republicans in Georgia. The act of joining Joe Biden in supporting his virtue signalling has backfired as Trump suggests the Governor boycott the companies boycotting Georgia.

The irony cannot be more profound and the Republicans are not leaving any opportunity. The Florida Republican Sen. Marco Rubio slammed the move. “@MLB caves to pressure & moves draft & #AllStarGame out of Georgia on the same week they announce a deal with a company backed by the genocidal Communist Party of #China,” he tweeted. “Why are we still listening to these woke corporate hypocrites on taxes, regulations & anti-trust?”

Now it is for the American public to decide whether they would like to carry on believing the people who pretend to be there for the greater good but abandon everyone at the first smell of money. Or, become their own independent thinkers and look for the hypocrisy of the Biden administration and the big businesses and organisations.
