After Biden, the US won’t see a Democratic President for decades to come

Here’s an update: Donald Trump is currently the least unpopular leader in the United States. The former President maintains a net negative of 5.5 percentage points, with positive opinion at 44.9 percent and unfavorable opinion at 50.4 percent.
President Joe Biden, Vice President Kamala Harris, and House Speaker Nancy Pelosi all score significantly worse than Trump. He’s also a lot more popular than the typical Republicans like Mitch McConnell and Kevin McCarthy, who have a long history of bashing President Obama. But let’s not discuss Trump’s inevitable triumph in 2024; instead, let’s get to know why the United States will not see a Democratic President for a long time.

Abysmal ratings for Democrats

To begin with, the Democrats today lack a positive image in the United States. President Joe Biden has a 51.8 percent unfavorable rating and a negative 8.5-point margin. Other Democratic leaders are also facing severe criticism. With a 13.7-point spread, Chuck Schumer has an unfavorable rating. With a 14.4-point deficit, Kamala Harris is in worse shape, while Nancy Pelosi has a 20-point unfavorable rating.

So, it is not only Biden whose approval ratings are taking a hit, but the entire Democratic Party leadership is facing a crisis of sorts. This translates into some long-term problems for the Democrats.

Why are Democrats facing a popularity crisis?

Why are the Democrats in such a pickle across the board? Why is it that no Democratic leader has been able to raise good sentiments recently?
The Democrats, under Joe Biden’s leadership, appear to have simply lost their story. Biden is adamant about putting climate change, racism, and gender identity at the top of his priority list. However, the common American isnt concerned about these issues, common folks care about the practical issues like the economy, inflation, voting policies, healthcare, education, and foreign policy, and the Biden administration has terribly failed at all of it.

According to a March survey of over 9,000 registered voters by the Pew Research Center, the economy was rated as a “very important” issue among both political parties in the context of the upcoming midterm polls. Nearly 8 in every 10 voters across parties agree that the economy is the top issue.

Another survey conducted by Harvard University’s Center for American Political Studies with The Harris Poll discovered that inflation was the top issue on the minds of around 2,000 registered voters.

Thirty-two percent of the voters said “price increases/inflation” was the biggest problem. Another 27 percent said “economy” was the most important problem. So, these 59 percent of the voters are going directly against Joe Biden and other Democrats. Yet, another 21 percent of voters flagged “immigration” as the main issue.

Adding up the numbers, you realize that around 80 percent of the total voters have one or the other reason to be angry with Biden on one count or the other.

Joe Biden’s failures are putting Democrats on the path of destruction

Well, without mincing words. Joe Biden is a failure. Americans are being forced to cope with record inflation at a four-decade high fuelled by record gas prices, due to Putin’s war on Ukraine and Biden’s war on fossil fuels.

For other Americans, Biden is a sheer disappointment. They are aghast by how Biden is dropping some of Trump’s toughest actions against China and is embarrassing the United States on the global stage.

No matter how much Biden tries to divert attention with ideas like climate change and gender identity, Americans continue hating Democrats for all their abject failures. And this cuts across party lines. It is not just the Republican supporters and the fence-sitters who hold a negative opinion of the Biden administration, but even the traditional Democratic Party supporters are likely to turn fence-sitters or pro-GOP.

Biden’s abysmal performance will therefore ensure that the US doesn’t have a Democratic President for several years to come.
