History of this Temple

The magnificent Namdroling Temple at Bylakuppe was constructed in 1963. Bylakuppe was first produced in 1961 by the famous Lugsum Samdupling. Dickie LaRusso worked on it later in 1969. The famous Tibetan Golden Temple is undoubtedly the most incredible instructor of the ancient Buddhist tradition of Nyingmapa arts, with over 5,000 nuns and monks as its members.

Three idols of Lord Buddha, Padma Sambhava, Buddha Shakyamuni and Buddha Amitayas, are housed in this monastery; These idols are 40 feet tall. The outer walls around the entrance of the Golden Temple Coorg are richly covered with multi-coloured paintings.

The doors are painted red and have heavy gold inlays. A strong knotted rope is also present, from which a pendant hang. The walls of the monastery are built entirely in the Tibetan style.
