The US Presidential elections are just around the corner and both the Republican and Democratic parties are gearing up for the political showdown.

Former US President Donald Trump has made it clear that he intends to run for re-election, and this news has sent shockwaves through the American deep state and Ukraine lobbyists. The reason for their anxiety is that, if Trump wins, he could potentially sabotage the Ukraine War, which has been ongoing for years.

In fact, former NATO Chief, Fogh Rasmussen, has expressed his concerns that a Trump victory could spell disaster for Ukraine. Rasmussen warns that Trump’s win could lead to a decrease in assistance for Kyiv, which would ultimately sabotage the war effort.

Trump’s stance on Russia’s invasion of Ukraine has been clear from the very beginning. While he initially praised Putin as a shrewd tactician, he also called for peace deals between Kyiv and Moscow.

With the lower house of Congress already under Republican control, and the Senate elections looming next year, Trump’s mounting popularity has only added to the war lobby’s fear. The prospect of Trump returning to power has made them fearful about the future of American foreign policy, especially with regards to the Russia-Ukraine war.

The US has been a key ally of Ukraine, providing military aid and training to its forces. However, if Trump wins the upcoming elections, his foreign policy could lead to a shift in US support for Ukraine. During his previous tenure as President, Trump had expressed skepticism about US involvement in foreign conflicts, and his administration had considered reducing military assistance to Kyiv.

Therefore, the prospect of a Trump victory in the upcoming US Presidential elections has raised alarms among the American deep state and Ukraine lobbyists. As the election approaches, all eyes will be on the candidates’ foreign policy stances, particularly Trump’s, and the repercussions of their potential victory.
