Trump could not but Mitsotakis is actually building a wall

Everyone remembers Trump’s controversial vow right? During his presidency, Donald Trump promised to build a wall along the US-Mexico border to combat illegal immigration. Despite facing criticism and challenges, he remained committed to the idea, and a partial wall was constructed during his term in office.

But, eventually, he was ousted and so, his idea to close the entire Mexico-US border was left in the lurch. However, there is another border where a wall is about to be built.

Trump failed to deliver on his promise to build a wall along the US-Mexico border but Greece’s PM Mitsotakis is taking matters into his own hands and is extending an existing wall along the country’s land border with Turkey.

According to a media report by AP, as his re-election campaign pledge, Greece’s prime minister pledged to build a wall that would span the entirety of the nation’s land border with Turkey.

The decision to nearly double the length of the current steel border wall over the next year was approved at a ceremony presided over by Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis, who earlier this week called the May 21 election.

The government intends to increase the wall’s current length of 37.5 kilometres (25 miles) by 35 kilometres over the following 12 months. By 2026, more than 100 kilometres of wall will be added, according to government officials.

Without the EU’s help!

For the unaware, border security remains a high-profile issue in Greece due to long-standing disputes with Turkey and a mass migration of refugees and migrants into the European Union during 2015-16 that largely was triggered by war in Syria and Iraq.

And get this, he’s not waiting for the EU’s help to do it – he’s gonna build that wall with or without them. The current wall spans 37.5 kilometers.

Now, Trump was also anti-immigration, but he barely had time to build a wall against Mexico. Greece, on the other hand, is getting ready to do it big time. The Current PM Kyriakos Mitsotakis is on a campaign to re-win the people’s mandate, and so he has decided to close the Greece-Turkey border entirely.

Already losing Erdogan must be shaking in his boots, man he just can’t allow more migrant attacks on Greece.
