2023 Alberta general elections: Alberta is on the edge of a knife and tensions are obviously running high. The air is thick with anticipation and anxiety. But, it’s not just the outcome of the election that’s causing all the tension. There’s more. The tussle between ideologies. With Danielle on one side and Trudeau’s friend Rachel Notley on the other, the future of Alberta hangs in the balance. So, what do you think will happen?
The political landscape in Alberta is filled with tension and uncertainty. The reason is the upcoming 2023 Alberta general elections which are set to be held in the month of May.
2023 Alberta general elections
From the time Danielle Smith took the premiership, there has been a little love-lost relationship between her and PM Justin Trudeau. Her presence has been a pall over the haul of Trudeau’s power. And that is why he has desperately wanted her out of office.
The Liberal government is trying to do everything in its power to oust the incumbent premier and get its lackey to hold the baton. From embarking on a vicious campaign to vilify Smith to featuring machine tabulator counting in the upcoming 2023 Alberta general elections, Trudeau and his party has resorted to all the underhanded tactics to secure his fast friend’s seat in the province. Now, there is a big question mark over whether it will actually happen. Will Albertans let that happen?
Well, we don’t think so. After all, why would they play with their own independence, rights and prosperity?

You see, Rachel Notley is a notorious character who inspires ferocious hatred because of her alleged shortcomings and disastrous policies she implemented while in office from 2015-19. The mere thought of her returning to office is enough to fill the province with dread and despair.
During her tenure, Notley made choices that hurt the people and economy of the province. She had put in place a carbon tax that harmed Alberta’s oil and gas industry, which was essential to the province’s economy and cost numerous jobs. Her actions left the province in a hazardous financial situation and caused a sharp rise in government debt.
And now, with a leader like Danielle in power, the province is now the most prosperous in Canada. The Albertans are never going to let the government take that away from them.
They understand that the policies of the liberal government are dictated by their absurd green agenda, which will only devastate the province’s future, and they will no longer put up with them.

But, if Trudeau succeeds in his attempts, then what will happen? There are only two possibilities- Either Danielle who enjoys the admiration of all the Albertans remains in power or Alberta secedes. Now, why are we saying this?
You see, the very thought of a Danielle-less Alberta is enough to send shivers down the spines of its citizens. Because if Danielle loses, the province will likely experience a seismic shift in its political landscape. Ever since Danielle took charge, the province is thriving because the smart leader knows how to use Alberta’s resources to their true potential in order to generate employment and revive the dying economy. Unlike Notley, who when in power nearly drove Alberta’s economy into a ditch.
Moreover, she also drew criticism for her approach to matters like healthcare and education. The quality of schooling was questioned, and there were longer wait times for medical operations. Many felt that she had failed the province because of her weak and ineffectual leadership.
And now, if somehow she manages to clinch power, the dreams of Alberta seceding are certain to come true. It is no secret that the federal government keeps on attacking the province’s natural resources. Lately, the government hinted at taking back the management authority over land and resources from the prairies which raised the voices of secession. The government made statements that insinuated their intentions of rescinding the NRTA which gave administrative and management authority over land and natural resources to Alberta, Saskatchewan, and Manitoba in the 1930s. This act would amount to the seizure of Western Canada’s natural resources, which has irked the nerves of the prairies. Therefore, the calls for secession from the rest of Canada mainly the West started doing rounds. And now, if their brave and beloved leader loses this election and a friend of Trudeau takes the baton, the people of Alberta will be up in arms.
If the unthinkable becomes reality, the streets of Alberta will erupt into a cacophony of chaos and unrest. For the people of Alberta, Danielle is more than just a leader. Her supporters are fiercely loyal to her and will stop at nothing to see her succeed because of her passion and commitment to her cause.
However, if Danielle were to lose the 2023 Alberta general elections due to a terrible turn of events, there would be an audible uproar of hatred and outrage on the streets of Alberta.
