Magic Mushrooms Treatment Canada: The provincial administration of British Columbia is well aware that the province has a serious drug problem and has been dealing with it for some time. The number of overdose deaths in the province keeps increasing despite several attempts to address the problem, such as harm reduction initiatives, increased financing for addiction treatment programs, and even the legalization of some narcotics like cocaine and marijuana.

2022 was the second worst year on record in British Columbia, as hazardous drug use resulted in nearly 2,200 fatalities. There is no doubt that the issue is serious. The provincial NDP government, however, continues to ignore the calls and is moving in a completely other direction.

The problems with the healthcare system are also well-known to the provincial government. The issues are obvious, ranging from lengthy appointment wait times to overcrowded hospitals. To date, the government had vowed to improve the care given to British Columbians by putting money into the system and recruiting more medical experts.

But now, they are heading to trick individuals into thinking they are fine, they are now resorting to hallucination. We mean literally.

The Magic Mushroom Treatment

The NDP government in British Columbia has been exploring the use of magic mushrooms and other psychedelics as a new treatment option for Canadians suffering from mental health issues. These substances are being considered as a cure for treatment-resistant depression, PTSD, and end-of-life anxiety.

The Ministry of Mental Health and Addictions has been working with various groups to investigate their potential benefits and develop targeted psilocybin treatments in clinical settings.

While psilocybin is still a controlled substance in Canada, there has been a growing body of research indicating its therapeutic potential. Despite this, it remains illegal to possess or traffic the substance, including in dispensaries.

Numinus Bioscience, a British Columbia-based startup, has been granted a license by Health Canada to possess, produce, assemble, sell, export, and deliver various psychedelic compounds, including psilocybin, for medical purposes.

Meanwhile, the Vancouver Police Department has stated that magic mushrooms are not a priority, as they are focusing on organized crimes.

Though, the use of psychedelics for medicinal purposes is not new. In the 1950s and 1960s, psilocybes were briefly studied for medicinal purposes before being discredited due to their association with recreational use among the counterculture.

However, new research has emerged in recent years showing their potential for treating a wide range of psychological disorders and addictions, including alcoholism. And hence, the use of magic mushrooms as a treatment option is extremely controversial.

Despite being banned by the Canadian supreme court back in the 1980s due to their psychoactive properties, these two are pushing onto the people in the name of medicine.

But, let’s be real here, these magic mushrooms are not exactly your typical medicine. Patients with severe diseases like breast cancer are being told that they’ll provide relief, but that’s just a hallucination. It’s like telling someone with a broken leg to just walk it off.

This is a dirty play with patients who deserve proper healthcare, not a trip down the rabbit hole. These poor folks are being led down a path of even more pain and suffering. Trudeau and Jagmeet have been hitting the magic mushrooms themselves because their latest move to bring back these controversial drugs is quite a trip.
