The relations between India and the European countries are reaching new heights and China has no choice but to find a place to hide. The relations between the two entities are historic and in the contemporary scenario, they hold more importance than ever.
While China has been pushed into a geopolitical quarantine because of its diplomatic failures, India is out in the open relishing the sweet fruits of its strategically placed long term pieces in the game that is reality. On October 22, India and the European Union reviewed their cooperation in the key areas including cyberspace, non-proliferation, maritime security, artificial intelligence, and terrorism through a virtual meeting. The two sides are also engaged in increasing cooperation for global economic recovery from the Coronavirus pandemic.
More recently while on his Europe visit, foreign secretary Harsh V. Shringla explained to his French counterparts, how India dealt with the Chinese threat on the border. The European Union too has been inching closer towards India in a post coronavirus world where it needs an alternative to China which is trustworthy. It needs a political, economic, and strategic counterbalance against ill-intentioned China.

In a recent setback for China, the US and Europe agreed on setting up a new mechanism to discuss China-related issues only. This new mechanism will look into human-rights violations, security, and most importantly multilateralism. Lately, the US has been pushing the European Union and other concerned countries for a tougher stance towards China. In the technology sector, several Chinese companies are engaged in data theft and spying activities working according to the instructions of the Chinese government.
European countries are also concerned regarding china’s intimidation towards a democratic entity like Taiwan and its aggressive stance towards pro-democracy revolutionaries in the territory of Hong Kong. For the US and its western allies, the Bhasmasur– China has been nothing but a reason for worries and its present activities are an aftereffect of vague and lob-sided policies of American administration right from when Nixon was at the helm.
It was only with the American patronage that China is bouncing around with its mouth wide open planning to devour every country in the world one at a time. The American attitude of appeasing China instead of the Soviet Union resulted in what we are witnessing today. Almost every country in the world is either facing difficulties at the hands of China or is on the verge of it.
Take Coronavirus, for example, global economies collapsed, crores of people lost their livelihood, and the country which was the place of its origin has been reaping the benefits. While the rest of the world is barely managing to stay afloat, China is set to enjoy an economic growth set to touch almost the 10 per cent growth mark.
Also, with ‘coincidently’ planned mechanism it is filling the vacuum and wishes to colonize the world. The world should be ready to see plenty of cheap and low-quality decoration items this festive season. This well planned and executed plan of China has made everyone in the world believe how cunning it can be. The world now seems to be aware of how China managed to fool everyone and with its hallmark strategy of first reverse engineering and then copying, from needle to cars and even fighter jets.
The realization, though late but better than never is something the world needs to put all of its muscles into. The dire need for a collective force against China is the need of the hour. In Europe, the wheel of change has been set in motion. With first Germany and then France setting up their plans for the Indo-Pacific region seems a wise choice. The Quad which is already in action is the ideal choice for countries who desire to retain their economic and political sovereignty.
A free, democratic, and transparent world is exactly opposite to what China wants. China wishes the smaller countries of the world to kneel to its whims by using One belt One road and debt-trap diplomacy and with the other countries, it flexes it’s otherwise hollow military might or allegedly uses Bio-weapons like viruses.
Western countries have made peace with the fact that China needs to be tamed. China’s major technological export firm Huawei which has now and again been reported to be engaged in spying work for the Chinese government is shunned from major world markets. The world needs an alternative and India fits the size.
The bonhomie of Europe and India will lead towards the creation of complications for China. For China which is already pushing hard for retaining partners, Europe’s Shift towards India will make China’s world difficult.
