Iran has now openly started threatening the free world as Biden administration looks the other way

Joe Biden’s policies concerning Iran are bearing fruits. With the over-the-top appeasement directed towards the Iranian regime, Iran has become overly confident. Tehran has realised that it has a diplomatic strong hand, and the persistence of the Biden administration to reinvigorate the Iran nuclear deal has only strengthened its position. Now as the nuclear stockpile of Iran is growing, it has decided to stop the sharing of its nuclear site’s footages. Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif said that Tehran would stop the daily and weekly handover of recordings.

This is a threatening development for the US allies in the Middle East. The increased stockpiling of uranium by the Iranians disturbs the geostrategic status-quo in the region and the fact that the USA under Joe Biden has abandoned its allies in the Middle East and North Africa region makes the development more dangerous.

As recent as Monday, the United States and its partners will work to “lengthen and strengthen” the 2015 nuclear deal with Iran, according to the pledge Secretary of State Antony Blinken made at an UN-backed disarmament conference in Geneva. However, while the USA is parroting the same line, Iran’s Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei on the same day said that Tehran might enrich uranium up to 60% purity if needed. He said, “Iran’s uranium enrichment level will not be limited to 20%. We will increase it to whatever level the country needs … We may increase it to 60%.”

The severity of the statement can be gauged by the fact that Iran had accepted the 3.67% limit under the 2015 nuclear deal. This all has become possible with the Biden administration taking a U-turn from the Trump era “Maximum Pressure Tactics”.

The recent announcements, which include calls to initiate diplomatic talks, have also been accompanied by a formal repudiation of Trump’s “maximum pressure” policy against Iran. While exiting the JCPOA, the Trump administration had announced that all sanctions against Tehran stood reimposed. But now the Biden administration has reversed Trump’s 2018 determination and the consequence is that the US is going to ease stringent restrictions on the domestic travel of Iranian officials posted to the UN.

While the Iranians are increasing their uranium stockpile and threatening the regional stability, Joe Biden and his team are looking the other way. They have even gone to the lengths to take away the terrorist tag from the Houthis. After pulling out abruptly from the Yemen war and leaving the US ally Saudi Arabia in the lurch and removing sanctions on Iran-backed Houthi rebels, the Biden administration was seen pleading in front of the Houthis to stop the violence and withdraw from the war.

Read more: Biden recently took the terrorist tag away from Houthis. Now he is begging them to stop the violence as Iran watches with glee.

Joe Biden, in an attempt to feed his ego, has left all the long-standing US allies in the Middle East in a vulnerable situation. Add to that the never-ending cycle of the USA’s appeasement of Iran, and it becomes the very recipe for a disaster. And now, as Iran has started to openly threaten the world with its claims to increase its nuclear stockpile, Joe Biden is looking the other way.
