US and Canada are now using Haitian police to slaughter dissenting protesters

Haiti is in a sorry state and now, it needs to come out of the Eagle’s clutches

Haiti is going through an immense crisis when it comes to the economy and employment which is compelling citizens to take to the streets and protest alongside increasing gang violence. Protestors are also not being treated properly by the authorities and their dealings with them need to be seen.

Recently, the armoured vehicle, given by US and Canada was lost by Haitian police in an encounter in the South of Haiti which killed two police officers and gang members. One of the armoured vehicles lost contact and couldn’t be monitored.

Now looking at the situation of frequent gang wars and showdowns, the Caribbean region is going towards the path of uncertainty.

Haiti crisis – Law and Order: An Excuse For The West

The recent impasse because of the Haitian protestors dissenting and finding alternatives due to the rise in prices and shortage of resources in the current period has created doubt about the role of so-called friends from the West.

The country is ravaged by poverty, hunger, and frequent occurrence of natural disasters. That’s why the gangs are showing their presence and creating chaos which the West is finding beneficial so that they could come and start flexing muscles.

The US is playing the bad boy through continuous aid being given to the police where many lives could be lost and the colonists will continuously impose their ways, looking at the past where the French, and Americans sophisticated the country’s identity, making it what it is now.

The recent gang war took place in the aftermath of protests and a gang takeover of a fuel plant which the police tried to take back later after immense shoutouts from the public. This crisis led to an impact on fuel prices, and supply.

Recently, in a positive tone, Antony Blinken stated about providing humanitarian aid to Haiti, in order to call for an end to the ongoing crisis. Even though such moves and statements are made, it doesn’t show, looking at the crisis being at a stalemate situation.

Looking at Ottawa’s role in this matter, it has shown interest in intervening in this conflict at the diktat of Washington and of course, Ottawa is also in the same boat when it makes repetitive statements of hope. Delegations were sent recently, to keep a check on the situation but this spoon-feeding towards Haiti may be problematic and it will give an incentive to Ottawa to further its influence and interference.

When further wealth and resources are drained out or fruits go to the superpowers, then the local population has no other choice but to take up criminal activities to get relieved from the pains and sufferings they have to go through where initiatives like these come into being.

Lip Service Won’t Do

The Haitian problem is only one issue which is Washington’s indecisiveness.  History has shown us a lot of instances where the Eagle has faltered in dealing with conflicts and external problems somewhat similar. Washington has been facing flack for the unnecessary use of weapons in Afghanistan and Iraq. These moves have only been a tool for flexing muscles and showing superiority to smaller countries for the greed of resources and power.

Haiti is in a sorry state and now, it needs to come out of the Eagle’s clutches.
