Zelensky was All Set to be Removed in a Coup but Things Changed Pretty Drastically

Ukraine war

Ukraine war: Let’s start today’s discussion with a story. There was once a puppet king in a highly corrupt kingdom, approved by most superior kingdoms except for one. This king was upset as he realized the new king was placed there by rival kingdoms to weaken his rule.

A Ukraine war ensued and the puppet king used all his power to defeat that new king but he failed miserably. The superior kings, who had established him before for their personal gains then started a search for his replacement and found that in the army general. However, the puppet king, consumed by power and fear of a coup, began to persecute, and attack his general.

Interesting, no? Well, a similar episode is taking place in Ukraine today, where modern-day Hitler Zelensky is after his own men.

In a real turn of events in highly corrupt Ukraine, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has announced that he is set to replace Defence Minister Oleksii Reznikov with the Chief of its Military Spy Agency, one of his closest allies.

Reportedly, Reznikov is set to be transferred to another ministerial job and he will be replaced by Kyrylo Budanov, head of the GUR military intelligence agency, said David Arakhamia, a senior lawmaker and chief of Servant of the People parliamentary bloc and a close aide of Zelensky.

In a string of resignations and dismissals that followed a corruption scandal late last month and Zelenskyy’s promise that Ukraine would adhere to Western standards of good governance, this sudden reshuffle will be one of the most striking ones since the war started.

The call to fight corruption

For the unaware, Ukraine’s Defense Minister Oleksii Reznikov is the second most known man in Ukraine for the western allies. He is one of the most prominent faces of the war against Russia. Now, he is under fire on the home front as investigations into alleged government corruption have rocked the country.

Kyiv’s officials have been at pains over the course of the Ukraine war to attempt to show that the nation is pulling together and cleaning up its act on corruption in a bid to chart a course toward the EU, so the revelations of two probes on Reznikov have come as a severe blow.

As per POLITICO, both of the investigations into Reznikov are related to Ukraine war profiteering and do not involve military action, according to Zelensky’s office.

The defense ministry was involved in a case around inflated military ration purchases, which has since grown into Kyiv’s top news story.

The deputy minister of infrastructure was also dismissed almost simultaneously in a case involving an overpriced government purchase of electrical generators. Both matters are being looked into, according to the Ukrainian National Anti-Corruption Bureau.

As the news of the reshuffle became public, Reznikov expressed his shock. He told the Ukrainian Fakty ICTV online media later in the evening that the transfer to the new ministry was news to him.

Reznikov had earlier on 5th February claimed that Zelensky is unlikely to make any decisions regarding a reshuffle.

Reznikov was quoted as saying, “If I unexpectedly received such an offer from the president of Ukraine or the prime minister, I would decline it because I do not have the expertise to do anything else”

Well, fighting corruption is indeed welcoming and definitely, actions must be taken against those who have filled their own pockets in the name of war. But, Ukraine’s case is really different. If someone is getting ousted in the midst of a war, then he definitely has done something against Zelensky’s interest.

Corruption in Ukraine

Now, Let’s talk a little about Ukraine and its growing Corruption.

Corruption has indeed been a corny issue for Ukraine for a long haul. Corruption is ingrained in Ukrainian society. The top echelons of Ukraine’s government are infested by corruption and crockery, while the common public is forced to engage in such practices to benefit from the country’s flourishing shadow economy.

If the statistics are to be believed, according to Transparency International’s Corruption Perceptions Index, Ukraine ranked 130th out of 180 countries in 2020, with a score of 27 out of 100, where 100 is a score for a country with very low corruption.

The World Bank’s Enterprise Survey also reported that 29.4% of Ukrainian firms indicated that they had to pay bribes to “get things done” in 2019. These statistics suggest that corruption remains a significant problem in Ukraine.

Zelensky: The leader of Corruption

Leave all this, our own modern-day tyrant Zelensky is mired in controversies of corruption. Several Pandora Papers revealed that Zelensky and his close circle were the beneficiaries of a network of offshore companies, including some that owned expensive London property.

The comedian, Volodymyr Zelensky was elected president of Ukraine in 2019 on the back of a wave of public resentment towards the nation’s political elite, including former leaders who used covert businesses to hide their wealth abroad. Later, he was discovered carrying out the same deeds.

What caused him to suddenly realize that corruption was on the rise and that it needed to be fixed? A king, despite how powerful he may be, always fears losing his throne, and Zelensky is one such king.

Klitcshko Is Also Under Fire

Reznikov is just the tip of the iceberg. There are several reports that Zelensky is running after every minister and government official who has acceptance in the west and has been at odds with Zelensky.

As per Ukrainian media, Zelensky’s office has also ordered security forces to conduct search operations in Kyiv’s Mayor Vitali Klitschko’s office and his entourages.

Vitali Klitschko, with his international connections with the EU and US, as well as influence in Kyiv, annoys the Office of the President.

Klitschko  is the same guy who slammed Volodymyr Zelensky for his actions in Ukraine. Zelensky had attempted to pass the buck on Klitschko  for the Ukrainian grid attack. Zelensky implied that Klitschko, the capital’s mayor, had not put enough effort into helping Kyiv residents to cope with the consequences of the Kremlin’s severe attacks on Ukraine’s power grid.

Klitschko gave a really resounding answer. He hit back, ridiculing Zelensky’s absurd remarks as “meaningless” in the context of the Russian invasion.

The mayor lambasted, “I don’t want to engage in political battles, especially in the current situation. It’s pointless. I have other work to do. But I note that there is no need to manipulate. It looks, to put it mildly, ugly. Both for Ukrainians and our foreign partners,” he posted this reply on his Telegram channel.

Almost every close guy of Volodymyr Zelensky is getting fired or replaced by some new guys. Zelensky has become paranoid. He is going after all his former supporters. And this is all taking place at a time when, reports are circulating that Russia Plans a new counter-offensive on the eve of 24th February. As per sources, Zelensky is upset with Reznikov and Klitschko connections and popularity in regard to the USA and EU.

Fear of a Coup

The “king” fears that he may be replaced real soon as his popularity among the Western nations is dwindling at a lightning fast speed.

At the start of the Ukraine war, Zelenksy became the blue-eyed boy for the west as he was the sole guy standing tall to Putin’s attack on Ukrainian Neo-Nazis. He got the support, aid and even backing of his own men to tackle Russia.

But, man-o-man what a colossal failure he became. Despite being popular and so-called brave, Russia took away Kherson, Zaporizhia, and other major cities of Eastern Ukraine. Currently, Russia eyes Donbass and if that goes away, Ukraine is bound to be limited to just Kyiv.

Zelensky, also, circulated news of the ‘ghost of Kyiv’ to show the bravery of Ukraine. The news later came out to be false. He then claimed that Russian soldiers were getting slain in thousands every day. That came out fake too.

Zelensky was tasked by the west with confronting Russia in a completely deadlocked Ukraine. Zelensky, however, never shied away from returning the huge favors of the West. Zelensky fired a missile at Poland creating a mirage that Russia is behind the attack. This was done in order to invoke Article 5 of NATO. He also stopped the flow of gas and oil to Europe through Ukrainian pipelines. Do you see his persuasive techniques?

Because of this, the west has lost faith in and hope for Volodymyr Zelensky. Biden, Zelensky’s American father, vehemently started denying giving Ukraine Abram tanks for these reasons. Amidst all this, Reznikov and Klitschko became too popular in the west. And so, Zelensky’s fear psychosis that soon a coup could take place has got activated.

Additionally, Ukrainian elections are scheduled for 2024. Well, whether or not polls would be taken remains in doubt, it is crystal clear that Zelensky now faces numerous opponents.  Leaders like Klitchko and Reznikov with backing of West are now among top candidates to challenge Zelensky.

Given his failures and Russia’s escalating aggression, Zelensky is aware that his time is running out. Either he may get ousted by internal rifts or lose the next election. He has thus begun to clean up the jumble he has made. But eventually, he will depart, and definitely not in a good way. Maybe he will lose in the Hitler style.
