Baba Harbhajan Singh Mandir – Guide

Baba Harbhajan Singh Mandir – Temple of an Indian soldier, there is a soldier on the India-China border in Sikkim who is still guarding the border 48 years after his death. You may find it strange to hear, but in the temple of Baba Harbhajan Singh, even the Chinese army bows down. All soldiers and officers of the Indian Army offer prayers at the Baba Harbhajan Singh Mandir, located between Jelep Pass and Nathula Pass in Gangtok, the capital of Sikkim, built in the 14000 ft snowy mountains on the India-China border.

History of this Temple

Harbhajan, who was posted as a soldier in the Punjab Regiment of the Indian Army, was traveling with his convoy on 4 October 1968, when he accidentally fell into a deep gorge and died, at that time neither his body was found nor any information was received. It is said that later he came in the dream of a friend and gave information about his body, then he was cremated. People have such a wish that from then till today the soul of Baba Harbhajan Singh protects the borders here.
