A bombshell report by Politico has revealed that Western allies bought roughly $2 billion in fuel made from Russian oil in the first half of this year.

The shipments of gasoline, diesel and other products made from Russian crude oil have grown in recent months as a result of imports from just three Turkish refineries.

The imports are technically legal because of a well-known sanctions loophole. While the EU and its Western allies banned nearly all Russian oil imports long ago, countries can still buy fuel of Russian origin if it is first processed in another country, such as Turkey.

That’s why, the EU, U.S., U.K. are buying Russian oil from Turkey like there is no tomorrow.

As per the same report, Russia is using this money to pay its soldiers in Ukraine.

Similarly, as winters approach, NATO nation Hungary has also increased imports of Russian gas and oil from Russia. Similarly, Slovakia is also said to have increased oil imports from Russian companies.

Last month, Hungary’s top diplomat Péter Szijjártó also made a surprise trip to Russia and held a meeting with the head of state-owned energy giant Gazprom. “Energy security is a matter of national security! That’s why I’m going to Russia,” the minister wrote on Facebook.

After his three-hour meeting with Gazprom CEO Alexey Miller — who has been sanctioned by the United States and UK for his role in supporting Russia’s war in Ukraine — Szijjártó wrote that Hungary’s energy security “cannot be guaranteed” without Russian gas.

“Hungary is satisfied with Russian energy cooperation,” he said, adding that “it takes some courage in Europe today to say that.”

On September 18, Hungary’s energy security chief also slammed the European Union for not providing enough support to help smaller, landlocked countries move away from Russian natural gas.

Csaba Marosvari, Hungary’s deputy state secretary for energy security, said, “As a result of the war in Ukraine, we received stronger and stronger pressure to diversify faster away from Russian fuels, but they deny the funds to be able to do that.”

Data from the EU Commission show that since the start of Russia’s invasion of Ukraine, the EU has drastically reduced its imports of Russian gas from more than 50% to 15% last year. This however doesn’t apply to Hungary which hasn’t reduced its gas imports from Russia.

Similarly, Indian government has also declared it will continue buying Russian oil without any doubts as long as the country does not fall under sanctions.

Indian oil and gas minister Hardeep Singh Puri few days back said, “If an entity is not under sanctions, there is no question I will buy from the cheapest supplier.”

He added that India is not alone, as European countries and Japanese companies also buy Russian oil.

Western media and elites have issued countless threats to nations like India, China and Turkey for buying oil from Russia, but at the same time, these shameless creatures don’t shy away purchasing the same oil from these nations.

Western hypocrisy is truly striking!
