China pressurises US to stop linking COVID-19 and China. Biden surrenders meekly

Within six months, the attitude of the USA has changed for the worse. Donald Trump was the embodiment of how US leaders were supposed to act against its rivals. However, within days after Joe Biden came to power, it seems that the US foreign policy has become literally meek. There are many instances within this small period but, the latest comes with Biden signing a memorandum, under which using terms like ‘China virus’ and ‘Wuhan Virus’ will become illegal.

In the pretext to fight racism and xenophobia, Joe Biden has tried to meekly make China happy. He has used the absurd logic, that the norm of naming a pandemic with the place where it originated is racist, and thus that cannot be allowed. On the side note, this is the most bloated example of the coming of the far-left crazy talk into the mainstream political domain. The USA’s Asian allies were already preparing to go against China, but they too must not have expected a symbol of democracy like the US President kowtowing in front of the symbol of authoritarianism Xi Jinping.

“The Federal Government must recognize that it has played a role in furthering these xenophobic sentiments through the actions of political leaders, including references to the COVID-19 pandemic by the geographic location of its origin,” according to the document.

The document adds, “Such statements have stoked unfounded fears and perpetuated stigma about Asian Americans and Pacific Islanders and have contributed to increasing rates of bullying, harassment, and hate crimes against AAPI persons.”

Biden’s tendency to impose his left-leaning dogmas on US allies is breaking some of Washington’s strongest bonds. Whether they are his traditional allies like the UK, Japan, South Korea, Canada, Saudi Arabia and Israel, or a new ally like India, Biden is losing all of them. The US alliance structure which was being very strategically stitched again after the Obama era’s disastrous reign, the current dispensation is looking to end all these efforts.

While on the one hand, the USA under Joe Biden is meekly surrendering to the Chinese, on the other hand, the Quad members are trying to find other options. The Quad was one of the cornerstones of Trump’s foreign policy. Biden’s soft stance on China is going to undermine the relevance and efficacy of Quad’s objective. With tensions already flaring between India and China in Ladakh, India has taken matters into its own hands and is ready to lead the nations in the Indo-Pacific against increasing Chinese animosity.

Read more: With Biden in White house the QUAD is dead, but India is starting a new and powerful Anti-China alliance.

The USA under Joe Biden has become the mirror image of the Trump era USA. It is now not thinking twice before leaving its allies and using absurd reasons to kowtow in front of the Chinese Communist Party.
