‘Death to Pakistan,’ Taliban has now trained its guns on Islamabad

The Taliban and Pakistan were not so long ago “best friends forever”. Pakistan helped the terror organisation a great deal in capturing the length and breadth of Afghanistan, and today, when there is a Taliban regime in place in Kabul, things have gone awry between the two partners. The Taliban is, at its core, a tribal organisation indoctrinated with Islamic fanaticism. Talibani monkeys have guns, jeeps and other weapons. The concoction, so to say, is lethal. Taliban is that experiment of Pakistan which has gone terribly wrong. With its regime solidly in place across Afghanistan, the Taliban is turning expeditionary and expansionist. It has taken a leaf out of China’s book, and the first target of Taliban’s land lust is Pakistan.

According to a report by WION, Taliban recently engaged in what can be called an offensive measure against Pakistan along the border between the two countries. Just as Pakistan hosted the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation, the Taliban sent a resounding message to Islamabad – agree to our perception of the Durand Line or perish. Special forces of the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan, i.e., Taliban foot soldiers removed barbed wire fencing put up by Pakistan along the Durand Line at Nangarhar. The Pakistani forces wanted to extend the barbed wire fencing, but were stopped by Taliban forces, who were being commanded by chief of the Eastern Nagarhar province, Dr Bashir.

During the scuffle, the commander of Taliban forces shouted at Pakistan’s army, and threatened Pakistan with war. Talibani terrorists, meanwhile, shouted “Death to Pakistan” slogans during the showdown. “Next time if you look bad at Afghanistan, I will come and make this area (only hundreds of meters from Pakistan’s soil) and will make it my frontline to wage war with you. I swear by Allah that waging war with you makes me happier than waging war with Jewish,” the Taliban Commander said.

Pakistani forces launched artilleries on Kunar province on Monday night after the incident in the Gushta district of Nangarhar province. Pashtun nationalism in the Taliban is leading to a revival of anti-Pakistan revisionism in Afghanistan. The Taliban doesn’t recognise the Durand line, and there is a long-pending boundary dispute between Islamabad and Kabul.

We know that the Taliban also follows the “Pashtunistan” strategy due to several reasons. Pro-Taliban leader Maulana Abdul Aziz, for instance, called for an “Islamic Revolution” against the Pakistani State. The rabble-rouser bluntly said,  “It (Taliban’s resurgence) will definitely have a positive effect on our struggle to establish Islamic rule in Pakistan, but our success is in the hands of God.”

The Taliban has been created and recreated by Pakistan. Throughout the 1990s, the Pakistan Army and the Inter-services Intelligence (ISI) were instrumental in creating and training the Taliban. When the Taliban overran Afghanistan in 1996, Pakistan was only one of three nations to recognise the Taliban regime. However, Taliban has now become Pakistan’s Frankenstein monster. It is out to get Pakistan and fight it tooth and nail if the need ever arises.

Taliban is also increasingly asserting its own perception of the Durand Line as the ultimate truth. This is not good news for Islamabad, which has been having it too good for too long with the terror organisation that it bred.
