The amount of money an average American company will make by assisting an employee’s abortion

The USA has become quite contentious nowadays as the Supreme Court has overturned a federal law that had legalized abortion nationwide. Yes, we are talking about the Roe vs. Wade judgment that has sparked heated debates across the globe and protests by a section of society.

We are not here to justify or say anything against the judgment of the honorable Supreme court. But, this overturn has provided a fortune moment to some opportunist “woke” or “liberal” companies, not just to double down on their pro-abortion and anti-life agenda but also to mint millions of dollars in the name of furthering this ‘noble cause’.

For instance, after the SCOTUS judgement, many companies are providing financial support to women for undergoing abortions and, the move is being labeled as the most pro-abortion move. But, the ordinary Americans have no idea how they are being fooled.

The New Scheme

As the Supreme Court’s latest ruling ended federal abortion rights, several US companies released statements in solidarity with Pro-abortion women. The companies are committed to “helping” employees gain access to health care services they may not be able to obtain in their state.

Companies like Starbucks, Tesla, Yelp, Airbnb, Microsoft, Netflix, JPMorgan Chase, PayPal, Amazon, and Reddit have vowed to issue policies covering travel expenses for employees who need abortions. This move has been welcomed by most pro-abortion groups.

Till now this sounds enthusiastic, but hold on, through this new mechanism, companies would be saving ample money and generating profits because the companies would be eventually filling their own coffers.

Warner Bros. Discovery has expanded its healthcare benefits to cover employees who need to travel to other states to access abortion and reproductive care. In contrast, Netflix has offered its employees and their dependents up to $10,000 in travel reimbursement for cancer treatment, transplants, gender-affirming care, or abortion through its plan.

Netflix is tagged as one of the most pro-liberal OTT platforms in the world, and the company’s policies are also quite liberal.  The Netflix parental leave policy allows new employees up to one year of paid leave, more than any other company in the US.

The same is the case with other companies such as Google, Facebook, LinkedIn, and Apple. During leave, it’s up to employees whether they want to work or not. Most of them do not work, that hardly affects their income stability.

Simply put, a pregnant woman is a great financial burden for such companies. Look at the calculation below to understand the monetary benefits a woke company gets to earn if a pregnant woman opts for abortion rather than having the baby.

A simple Math and Logic

A simple mathematical calculation is enough to understand what exactly these companies would be earning through this new travel reimbursement plan.

The average estimated salary at Netflix is $136,046 annually or $65 per hour. whereas the average annual wage for Americans is $56,310, according to the Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS) of the United States.

Every woman who takes maternity leave is entitled to, and her employer is responsible for, receiving maternity benefits at the rate of the average daily income for the time period structured by the company.

Providing $10,000 as travel reimbursement would be saving Netflix and other companies a lot, or an estimated amount of $120,000 per such case. So, encouraging women to opt for abortions is essentially a great expenditure cut technique for these woke companies. Even if 1% of Netflix’s total 11,000 employees opt for this travel reimbursement plan in a year, this translates into an annual profit of whopping $13 million.
