Ethiopia is now one step closer to completely obliterating Tigray terrorists

Ethiopia TPLF conflict

Ethiopia TPLF conflict: The Tigray Crisis is coming to an end as the TPLF has backed off from the neighboring region of Afar in Ethiopia. The conflict between TPLF and Ethiopia has been going on for more than two years, it started off when the Tigray rebels captured an army base of the Federal government of Ethiopia and then Ethiopia government barged in on TPLF and Eritrea jumped in the conflict later.

Recently the TPLF has retreated from the Afar and its neighboring region citing redeployment of troops as a reason; however, the real reason for the retreat is that TPLF has suffered huge losses which led to the cowardly retreat of the Tigrayan Rebels. The announcement by the Tigray came in when Getachew K Reda tweeted, “A note to the #InternationalCommunity and to all concerned: for the record, there are no #TigrayForces, literally none, left in #Afar. The authorities in #AddisAbaba know this. And you know it too, more or less. Needless to say, the blockade still continues!”

The withdrawal from Afar region is one of the conditions set by the Ethiopian government for peace talks to prevail. However, both the Ethiopian government and the regional authorities are yet to respond to this.

Strategic importance of Eritrea and Ethiopia

The Ethiopian region is one of the most important regions of the African Continent. It lies near the choke point of the Red sea. Well it is evident that the USA is notorious for establishing its presence near the critical chokepoints of the International trade. But the question here is why?

To find its answer allow me to take you to some of the important choke points of the world. If we have a look at the Indian Ocean, it alone alone holds 3 of the world’s most important choke points.

  1. Strait of Hormuz – USA controls this choke point by controlling UAE and Saudi Arabia.
  2. Strait of Malacca– It controls this strait by establishing hegemony over this area through Singapore, Indonesia and Malaysia.
  3. Strait of Bab El Mandeb– Now USA is after this Strait as it already has a base in Djibouti but to fully control this strait it needs its influence over Eritrea.

Apart from strategic importance the horn of Africa region holds mineral and metal value as well. It holds some of the world’s most important mineral and metal reserves such as oil, coal, gold, copper, zinc and potash among others.

The Proxy of the West is losing and so is the West

TPLF is the destabilizer in the region. The West follows a certain pattern, where it cannot neutralize a dissenting leader, it tries to destabilize the region of that leader and in the name of help intervenes militarily, politically, and of course economically as this is the only purpose behind the origin of AFRICOM

The West is rattled by the loss of the Tigray forces and is after the Ethiopian and Eritrean governments with its full propaganda machinery. It is not shocking if anyone says that the West is the only player in this global mess which can fund these terrorists to gain control over the nation of Ethiopia.

And with the loss of TPLF, USA is also feeling some heat in the continent of Africa. The way these two nations have come together after resolving their decades old issues and are now together fighting the TPLF menace is impeccable.

The head of TPLF Debretsion Gebremichael wrote, “We trust that our bold act of withdrawal will be a decisive opening for peace”

In his letter to the United Nations, TPLF Leader called for a no-fly zone over Tigray, and suggested the imposing of arms embargo on Eritrea and Ethiopia and also a U.N. mechanism that external armed forces have withdrawn from the region of Tigray.

Eritrea-Ethiopia bonhomie is an example

The cooperation of both of these nations is commendable as it is seen that any nation in Africa cannot oust a Western power from its territory without the help of a foreign counterbalance. It is seen in the Sahel region that nations which wanted to expel France and its mercenaries Barkhane group, had to take help from Russia or its PMC Wagner Group. But how Eritrea unleashed havoc on the Tigray menace and forced it to retreat from its stronghold points can be replicated by other countries too. The West’s alleged proxy Boko Haram in Nigeria or the M23 rebels in Democratic Republic of Congo are some of the major examples.

As we can see the proxies acting in the favor of the West in many nations must be expelled and the undue influence of the West should come to an end.
