Italy’s new Prime Minister is good news for Niger

Italy Niger

After having five Left-wing leaders, Italy has a new Prime Minister who is affiliated to the right wing ideology. Giorgia Meloni’s political ideology, who is against illegal immigration, is tough on Islamic terrorism and prioritizes national interests first, doesn’t sit well with the European Union which is dominated by left-leaning leaders who interfere in the internal affairs of other countries from time to time. During a speech Meloni said, “No to the violence of Islam, yes to safer borders. No to mass immigration, yes to work for our people.”

Meloni coming to power is good news for Niger

Now, we at TFI Global explained how France’s involvement in Niger was a complete failure. The French government deployed its troops in the Sahel region which includes Mali, Niger, Burkina Faso etc and formed the military alliance G5 Sahel. The mission called Operation Barkhane was a complete disaster with French forces being withdrawn from the Sahel region and G5 Sahel being labelled a “dead group” by the Niger president Mohamed Bazoum. Niger people vigorously protested against French presence in their lands. Following the departure of France, Bazoum invited Russia’s Wagner Group to eliminate the Islamist and insurgent groups in his country. Unlike Operation Barkhane, Wagner Group is much more effective in dealing with terrorists in Niger.

Now, Italy has donated two military helicopters to Niger as part of military and defence cooperation between the two countries. The defence minister of Italy Lorenzo Guerini said, ““This is only a small part of the work we are doing.” He continued, “I would particularly like to thank the armed forces of Niger for the work they are doing with courage and professionalism,”

This is a win-win situation for both Niger and Italy. Niger is receiving assistance in its fight to annihilate the Islamic extremists and insurgents who are ravaging the nation, killing civilians and plundering its resources. Similarly, Italy is protecting its own interests by establishing a strategic relationship with Niger. Italy is struggling with the problem of illegal migrants. In fact, around 70,000 migrants reached the nation’s shores this year. There are reports which claim that many of these terrorists in Niger and other countries in the region disguise themselves as migrants to seek asylum in Europe. In fact, since the start of the year 70,000 migrants have arrived on boats on the country’s shores

And since, Italy is one of the main points of entry into Europe; the advent of these terrorists poses a danger to the safety and security of the nation. But these terrorists will not be able to reach Europe as Niger will eliminate them with the blessings of Italy and Russia. Italy is strengthening its border and security with this relationship with Niger.

We at TFI Global also explained that Niger, which is an oil-rich nation, is building a major pipeline project which will stretch from its eastern region of Agadem to Benin. The project will create massive employment, turn Niger into a self-sufficient nation and develop its economy. However, the Jihadist incursions in the Agadem region present a major impediment to the progress of this pipeline project.

But with Italy’s help and Russia’s backing, Niger will receive military support and equipment needed to end the menace of these terrorist and rebel groups in its territory, once and for all. Eventually, the Niger government will attain peace. A peaceful Niger will certainly build its oil pipeline project. Since, Italy is helping Niger in the fight against terrorists and insurgents, in future the West African nation in turn will look after Italy’s oil needs.

Hence, with the backing of Italy and Russia, whose determination to end the danger of Islamic terrorism and insurgent groups is strong, unlike France which was in cahoots with the Jihadists, Niger will become a peaceful country. And with the success of the oil pipeline, it will start exporting oil to Italy as well as its neighbours.

The symbiotic relationship between Italy and Niger will be fruitful to both given their common hatred for Islamic terrorists who have been ravaging the North Africa for a long time.
