The world’s richest man Elon Musk has triggered a major debate on social media: Is the UK a country of pedophiles? Recently, the Tesla boss said that no one should visit the UK because they release pedophiles from prisons.
Elon Musk wrote on his X, “I don’t think anyone should go to the UK when they’re releasing convicted pedophiles [sic] in order to imprison people for social media posts.”
He also alleged that UK at the same time was imprisoning people for their posts on social media, referring to the recent Southport riots. Musk had earlier said that a civil war was brewing in the UK and that the government of PM Keir Starmer was restricting people’s free speech.
This came after UK admitted it has released thousands of offenders from overcrowded prisons. The decision was taken after a surge of arrests made during the recent anti-immigration riots. The arrests had apparently led to overcrowding in jail cells.
However, soon it was revealed several sexual offenders were wrongly released by the government.
At least 37 people were released wrongly after it was revealed that their offences were wrongly logged under outdated laws. Days after the mass early release of prisoners, it emerged a man freed was alleged to have sexually assaulted a woman on the same day he was released. It was later established the man was released as part of the policy, which aims to ease prison overcrowding, on its first day. The man was later arrested but only after making another woman his prey.
Such a chaos in Downing Street. Such a chaos on UK’s streets. Labour are already a complete shambles.
This brings us to the question: Is the UK a pedophile country?
Just three years back, government agencies in UK had found that around 850,000 people used sites on dark web meant for pedophiles. The scariest part is that these dark web sites required people to prove they have raped a child before they were allowed to enter and make accounts.
Now, UK police failed to take required action in this case. They were not able to investigate all of the suspects and did not have the resources to analyse all the accounts discovered on the dark web. After such a lackluster response, the pedophile community still exists on UK’s dark web.
The latest figure is significantly higher than the previous estimate of 300,000 few years back. This means that the community is growing at an alarming rate. But the UK government’s topmost agenda seems to be easing pressure and crowding in prisons even as people are still being jailed just for expressing their thoughts on social media.
To rein in free speech on internet, the UK government is set to bring the Online Safety Act, to prevent ‘misinformation’ and ‘disorder’. Just because they do not like the message on social media, they are resorting to shooting the messenger. That’s why the UK government didn’t even invite Elon Musk to an upcoming investment summit. PM Starmer, despite focusing on fixing the UK’s broken economy, is now subbing the world’s richest man to satiate his own ego.
