Prime Minister Narendra Modi is set to visit the United States on February 12 and 13, where he will meet with President Donald Trump and senior US officials. This marks Modi’s first visit to the US since Trump’s inauguration for a second term.
Foreign Secretary Vikram Misri highlighted that Modi’s visit, occurring just three weeks after the new administration took office, underscores the significance of the India-US partnership and its strong bipartisan support in the US.
Key discussions between Modi and Trump will focus on energy and defense. Misri noted that ongoing conversations on tariffs are expected to continue during the visit. Modi will also engage in bilateral meetings with Trump, including both restricted and delegation-level talks, while senior US officials are expected to meet him. Additionally, he will interact with business leaders and the Indian community.
Before traveling to the US, Modi will visit France from February 10 to 12, where he will co-chair an AI Summit with President Emmanuel Macron and address the India-France CEOs forum.
