The Haitian crisis is a complex and multifaceted issue. A range of social, natural and political problems has made the place a living hell. Amidst all this, the West is hell-bent on solving the crises through military intervention and it is looking for a window of opportunity to do so. It seems that now the west has found that window. And, the groundwork for military action has already begun.
According to the UN’s most recent statement, the United Nations’ highest human rights official, Volker Turk, made a plea for the deployment of an international force to Haiti. This request echoes the appeal made by Haiti’s prime minister, who has been seeking the deployment of such a force for the past year.
Preparations underway
The last month was definitely one of the harshest Haiti saw in decades and even Police have started revolting against Haitian gangs and PM Ariel Henry. Since Ariel Henry took power in July security in Haiti has only deteriorated. However, the incidents across Haiti by neighboring allies and the west demonstrates that something bigger is taking place behind the curtains.

Bahamas severed its ties!
The Bahamas is suddenly cutting its ties with Haiti. At the end of January, Bahamian Prime Minister Philip Davis stated that the ongoing crisis in Haiti presents a significant threat to Bahamas. As a result, the government has launched a crackdown on Haitian migrants. He also ordered the evacuation of all Bahamian diplomats from Haiti.
Border closures by neighbors
The Dominican Republic has already closed its borders to Haitians. Now, Turks and Caicos island have also announced that they will be implementing stricter border controls. The islands have announced that it will not stop going after undocumented Haitian migrants in its territory.
The international presence increased
Canada, which previously participated in a military intervention in Haiti several decades ago, is now exploring ways to expand its presence in the country. The Canadian government has deployed aircraft into Haiti’s airspace. The CP-140 Aurora is part of the Royal Canadian Air Force (RCAF) fleet and has been deployed to assist in the mission.

All this points out towards just one possibility that Haiti is on the brink of being invaded by a foreign power. Will this solve the nation’s problems or will it backfire, as it did in 2010. Only time will tell.
However, it is clear that the West has taken advantage of a vulnerable nation and is now reaping the rewards of its actions. The invasion of Haiti will be a reminder of the power and influence of the West, and how it has been used to manipulate and control weaker nations.
