Russia destroys the heart of Ukraine’s arms manufacturing

The odds against Ukraine winning the war were already one in a million. However, with Russia's most recent tactic is currently one in a billion.

Ukraine is having trouble securing the support of more Western allies. Following the most recent Pentagon leak and the covert US message that Zelensky’s time is up. More and more, European allies are figuring out a method to get out of Zelensky’s war game. For instance, the European Union nations have recently struggled to come to an agreement on where to purchase weapons for the Ukrainian armed forces.

The Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung reports that Germany intends to provide a fifth of the anticipated 1 million shells for the Ukrainian Armed Forces. But this is insufficient; additional manufacturers are required, and France is adamant that purchases should only be made from European firms.

Poland’s refusal to extradite the Ukrainian suspect in the Nord Stream pipeline sabotage case investigation raises the question of European unity. Was Russia correct?

Due to these internal rifts within the EU, Ukraine is now reliant on its own armament industry. To at least keep afloat, weapon factories in the city of Kyiv are operating at full capacity to make guns and artillery.

However, Russia has plans to destroy that as well and will undoubtedly completely halt the Ukrainian war effort.

Russia attacks the heart!

According to media reports, the Russian Defence Ministry announced a significant missile attack by the Russian military against Ukraine defense industry had halted the manufacturing of weapons and munitions.

During its daily media briefing, the ministry stated: “…the Russian Armed Forces of the Russian Federation launched a group missile attack with long-range precision weapons, air and sea-based, on the military-industrial complex of Ukraine,” adding that “all assigned targets were hit.”

The Kyiv, Sumy, and Dnepropetrovsk regions were reported as the targets of strikes by Ukrainian media, despite the Russian military not specifically naming the exact places that had been struck. The latter has reportedly gone through the hardest, with reports of a significant explosion near Pavlograd’s outskirts.

In addition, A train carrying Western weaponry to the Ukrainian combat lines was also apparently derailed by Russia.

Online videos that have not been verified depict the strikes’ aftermath close to the city. According to reports, the attack also set off a sizable secondary explosion, which was followed by numerous smaller ones.

Ravaging after effects

The outcome has been a significant reduction in Ukraine’s capacity to develop and stockpile ammunition. Although Western allies have consistently provided Ukraine with military assistance to support its war efforts, Ukraine has always believed that having its own facilities for producing weapons would be advantageous.

To counter Russian threats and boost output, Ukroboronprom and other regional defence companies have spread manufacturing across Ukraine and opened offices in nearby countries.  Despite the ongoing bombing and the challenges of locating foreign parts, Ukraine vowed to continue to produce its own shells, missiles, and drones.

But now, the production has hit a snag. Whereas, the Western allies have already started giving signals that they are heading out of the war room and so, Zelensky is on his own now.

Simply put, Ukraine has no chance of defeating Russia without any weapons. Forget the entire counteroffensive fantasy. Without supplies falling low and manufacturing being interrupted, Ukraine is ready to enter a total state of paralysis. The clever plan by Russia to completely choke Ukraine is succeeding, and NATO’s absconding is the icing on the cake. Believe it or not, Zelensky’s time is up unless the US proposes a new escalation.
